It is essential to ensure you prepare your home for the real estate videography/photography session. This will optimize the video and photo visuals showcasing your property on the listing. Your listing will be more aesthetically pleasing to your potential and current clients.

1. Clear and Clean Every Room

This may be the most obvious task on the list. Make each room as presentable as possible. Declutter, wipe down, sweep, mop, and vacuum where necessary. Do not forget the bathroom. Clean the toilet and shower/tub.

2. Clean Every Surface

Don’t forget to wipe down counters, furniture, sinks, and mirrors. If necessary, wipe down the walls, ceiling fans, and lamps.

3. Remove Any Unnecessary Decor

Remove any personal photos or names. It’s best to take down any holiday decor as well. Professional and presentable, not personal.

4. Prepare Windows and Lights

All windows should be cleaned and the curtains opened for natural lighting. Natural sunlight is the best lighting. To better enhance the lighting 5700K (kelvin) lightbulbs are preferred. You don’t need to replace what you already have. However please ensure that all lightbulbs work.

5. Turn Off All Appliances

Turn off all kitchen appliances, entertainment appliances (i.e. TVs, gaming consoles, computers), or cosmetic appliances.

6. Make Plans for Kids or Pets

Kids and pets move unpredictably which may interfere with the session. Please plan accordingly to avoid any interference or interruption during the session.

1. Clear Driveway

Declutter. Remove or store any toys, bicycles, or other unnecessary objects. Do not park any cars on the driveway to capture the full view of the driveway on camera.

2. Refreshen Landscape

Mow the grass, remove any weeds or dead flowers/plants, rake off any garbage or excess plants/cut grass.

3. Clean Pools

Clear out any toys or debris on/in the pool. If there is water, ensure the water is clean.

4. Clean Any Furniture

If there is patio or yard furniture, clear off any clutter and wipe it down.

5. Remove Any Unnecessary Decor

Remove any personal or holiday decor from the front of the property, or on any yards. Keep it as neutral and natural as possible.

Depending on the property size, the session may take approximately 4-6 hours.

1. You May Be Asked to Vacate a Room or Area During the Session

To avoid having people on the video walkthrough, virtual tour, and photographs we ask that a minimum number of people be on the property. We may request that you leave a room or area as we go through the property.

2. Prepare for Possible Reschedule (In Case of Weather Changes)

Sometimes the weather may change or become worse than anticipated. We may have to reschedule to complete any drone photos or video and any other outside photography.
